EMC Roller Test Bench by EMEC-Prototyping

The fully pneumatic EMC test bench from EMEC-Prototyping is a test solution optimized for EMC requirements, enabling precise mechanical actuation and load simulation during electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing of drive systems for pedelecs, e-scooters, and small electric vehicles (eKFV).

The use of purely pneumatic components prevents measurement interference caused by the test equipment itself.

Thanks to its modular design, high-precision measurement technology, and pneumatic actuation, the test bench is ideally suited for standard-compliant EMC testing of e-bikes, pedelecs, and other electrically powered vehicles, as well as their components such as ABS brake systems or electronic shifting units.

  • Pneumatic drive with X-Y-Z adjustment
    Freely positionable drive unit with integrated optical torque measurement – ideal for precise adaptation to different drive types and bottom bracket geometries.
  • Brake roller(s) with speed and torque measurement
    High-precision optical sensors ensure stable operating points in EMC test environments – ideal for setup operation, standard-compliant measurements, and reproducibility. With speeds up to 50 km/h, also suitable for the characterization of S-pedelecs.
  • Quick coupling system with bottom bracket adapters
    Tool-free, fast setup and reconfiguration thanks to the coupling system for a wide range of motor and bottom bracket types (e.g. Bosch Gen3, Mahle, Pinion, Fazua, ROTOR, Hollowtech, etc.).
  • Mobile frame with low test position
    Extremely low construction height (~110 mm) for stable mounting and EMC-compliant testing in shielded chambers.
  • Setup aid for ergonomic handling
    Separate setup stand for holding the test specimen via the seat post (single-operator setup) – simplifies laboratory handling and significantly reduces setup time.
  • Control & pneumatic cabinet outside the test chamber
    Potential interference sources are reliably relocated outside the measurement area – ensuring optimal compliance with stringent EMC requirements.
